Fengyi Gao joined Visa Research as a Staff ML Scientist in September 2022. Fengyi received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with a Data Science certificate from University of Michigan in 2022 and a B.S. in Materials Science from University of Science and Technology of China in 2017. Her Ph.D. thesis was on colloidal and protein self-assembly with shape-based models. Prior to joining Visa, Fengyi was a Data Science intern at American Express, working on machine learning model development for loan default detection.
As a member of the Visa Research team, her research interests are in data analytics, machine learning, and deep learning. She aspires to bring her knowledge and experience in data science, computer science and engineering to real-word applications.
