Biography

Dr. Menghai Pan joined Visa Research as a Staff Research Scientist in June 2021. Menghai received his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in 2021, and B.S. in Computer Science from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in 2016. His Ph.D. research focused on making sense of human-generated spatial-temporal data from urban environment.

As a member of the Artificial Intelligence team, his research interests include machine learning and deep learning, with a particular focus on spatial-temporal data mining, reinforcement learning, explainable AI, and smart cities. He has published several papers in the top-tier conferences and journals, including one is awarded as the Best Applied Data Science Paper in 2019 SIAM International Conference on Data Mining (SDM’19). And others are published in the ACM SIGKDD International Conference on Knowledge Discovery & Data Mining (KDD), ACM International Conference on Advances in Geographic Information Systems (ACM SIGSPATIAL), ACM Transactions on Intelligent Systems and Technology (TIST), IEEE Transactions on Big Data (TBD), etc.
