Dr. Mina Ghashami joined Visa Research as a Staff Research Scientist in April 2018. Mina received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Utah in 2017, and received her M.S. and B.S. in Software Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2012 and 2010, respectively. Prior to joining Visa, Mina was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Rutgers University–New Brunswick. Before working at Rutgers University, she was a Grad Scholar Visitor at Johns Hopkins and a Research Intern at Microsoft Research Lab.
As a member of the Data Analytics team, her research interests are in data mining, machine learning, streaming matrix sketching and randomized linear algebra. She has published eight papers in several international conferences and journals, including Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (KDD), SIAM Journal on Computing (SICOMP), European Symposium on Algorithms (ESA), International Conference on Very Large Data Bases (VLDB), and others.
