Dr. Peihan Miao joined Visa Research as a Staff Research Scientist in July 2019. Prior to joining Visa Research, she interned at Microsoft Research, Facebook and Google NYC. She received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. Her Ph.D. dissertation was on "Towards Secure Computation with Optimal Complexity," where she built cryptographic tools towards achieving optimal computation, communication and round complexity in secure computation, in both theory and practice.
As a member of the Cryptography team, her research interests are in cryptography and security, in particular, secure computation, applied cryptography, secure authentication and blockchain. She has published multiple papers in several international conferences, including Association for Computing Machinery on Computer and Communications Security (ACM CCS), Indocrypt, Crypto, Eurocrypt, and others.
