Biography
Sheng is an enthusiastic AI researcher with a passion for innovation, problem-solving, and connecting the dots. He completed his PhD in statistical signal processing and machine learning. Since joining Visa in 2017, Sheng has driven innovations in NLP, Risk Modelling, Sequence Modelling, and Graph Learning. Additionally, he has successfully translated AI/ML innovations into impactful business solutions, including VisaNet + AI, Visa Account Attack Intelligence (VAAI), and Optimize Risks of Counterparties with AI (ORCA). These solutions allow for better protection of the payment ecosystem while providing better payment experience with less frictions. Currently, Sheng is taking a leadership role in driving innovation by developing foundational models for payment systems. Sheng has authored and co-authored over 25 patents, journal articles, and conference publications.
