Nearly 500 Visa DPS clients, prospects, and partners recently came together at the newly built Gaylord Rockies Resort in Colorado for the annual Visa DPS User conference. Attendees had the opportunity to hear from Visa executives during general sessions and collaborate with one another during breakouts focused on trends shaping the future of payments.
This year’s theme, Future Ready, Launch focused on the importance of being future ready, today and optimizing resources for a dynamic strategy in a constantly changing payments ecosystem.
Visa believes tapping-to-pay is the future of fast, simple and secure payments at the point of sale. The U.S. market is ready and taking off with 78 out of the top 100 U.S. merchants by number of transactions offering the ability to tap-to-pay at checkout. Visa hopes to see over 100 million Visa contactless cards issued in the U.S. by the end of 2019.
Larisa Mendenhall, Director of Individual Awards at ITA Group stated,” We were here at this conference just last year learning about Tap to Pay and Contactless and we knew that we had a giant reissue coming up for one of our largest clients. My coworker and I looked at each other and said we have to go contactless.”
